Mark S Gubb & Gordon Dalton
24 – 25 October 2014
Nowhere Bar is a pop-up bar, open at the time of the Artes Mundi launch and Open Studios weekend 23, 24, 25th Oct.
Nowhere Bar is both social and anti-social, with fun, discussion and rock'n'roll at its cold-but-beating heart. It is both an artwork and a fully functioning dive bar, providing a social space for visitors to the festival along with hosting a selection of activities, including curators talks, artist DJs and exhibitions.
Nowhere Bar briefly provides Cardiff with a place somewhere in time where anything and nothing but a good time happens. Leave your pretensions at home and wear your heart on your sleeve. Sprain your mind. Have a good time all of the time.
For details of venue and opening times please follow:
Gordon Dalton and S Mark Gubb are two solo artists who, when the planets align, come together as a non-collaborative duo. Previous projects have seen them go to head to head in competition – 'The Battle of Forest Hills', Moot Gallery, Nottingham – undertake a classic American road-trip in search of the legend surrounding Evel Knievel's failed 'Snake River Canyon' jump – 'Everyone Knows this is Nowhere', Castlefield Gallery, Manchester – and produce a half hour radio show with an American Preacher – 'Kick out the Jams', Radio Radio, National Museum of Wales, Cardiff.
1st Floor, 18-20 Wood Street, above Abacus
*Please note that the entrance to Nowhere Bar is to the rear of Wood St on Park Street Lane. Look out for Nowehere Flyers.
